Youth ministry turns into an isolation shelter

Coronavirus has required people to change where they do things. Living rooms turn into offices, backyards are turning into gyms, and churches are transforming into emergency isolation shelters. A church in Savannah, Georgia, has decided to help make a difference during an outbreak. Compassion City Church partnered with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency. Compassion City and CEMA are converting a youth ministry building into a place for those diagnosed with Covid-19. Compassion City Church plans on providing ten beds for women and ten beds for men. The building is for anyone who can’t self-quarantine in their own homes and can’t stay in a hospital. There will be meals provided by the Salvation Army. There will also be screenings by the Department of public health. Since Governor Kemp has decided to re-open the state, the health officials are expecting a rise in cases. Churches like Compassion City Church are helping out in a generous way.
