Coronavirus has required people to change where they do things. Living rooms turn into offices, backyards are turning into gyms, and churches are transforming into emergency isolation shelters. A church in Savannah, Georgia, has decided to help make a difference during an outbreak. Compassion City Church partnered with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency. Compassion City and CEMA are converting a youth ministry building into a place for those diagnosed with Covid-19. Compassion City Church plans on providing ten beds for women and ten beds for men. The building is for anyone who can’t self-quarantine in their own homes and can’t stay in a hospital. There will be meals provided by the Salvation Army. There will also be screenings by the Department of public health. Since Governor Kemp has decided to re-open the state, the health officials are expecting a rise in cases. Churches like Compassion City Church are helping out in a generous way.
